There's a new album in - you can upload screenshots of your latest designs to it!

Discussions

You can use @font-face, but use font's in woff format in order to be portable for IE.

Thanks guys! Loyd, your example seems very reasonable but can you explain it in a way that I will understand? :) What do you mean make a copy? And how can I assign it? Do you have an article that explain it in a more technical way?

http://docs.joomla.org/Template_Development starts with 1.5 but most of it will work if you make it 1.6 compliant it will work with 2.5 might have to tweak it some. look at the atomic template this is a very basic template you can use to create your own

Just to revive this old thread... We can use HTML5 and CSS3 now. Read more about facts and myths here: http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2010/09/23/html5-the-facts-and-the-myths/ There are several tools you can use to make HTML5 work with old browsers. http://html5boilerplate.com/ HTML5 Boilerplate - compilation of the best practices in making HTML5 sites. Pick and choose what's relevant for your project. http://www.modernizr.com/ Modernizr - to create new HTML5 tags in IEs and detect browser features for graceful degradation. http://css3pie.com/ PIE - use CSS3 features in IE6-8 If you need HTML5 overrides for Joomla core components/modules and K2, there is a Template Framework out there who has done it already. http://blog.magicthemes.com/post/1351796671/html5-css3-joomla-templates-from-magicthemes Cheers everyone! :)

Hi Matt! Thanks. "I don't consider IE6 issues an issue anymore. :-)" I like it!

well.. question is weather u can survive with only 15% for all the expenses... marketing will cost a lot... not to mention all other costs, servers ect. there is good reason why marketplaces take big commission, but they do take too much and joomla only marketplace would b nice, but will it b enough is question... other products should b supported if for nothing else to attract more people to the website. maybe u could start with 35% commision and then over time and sales decrese to 20%

Can anyone send me a link for a Joomla! template for a 'Chiropractic Care' website?

Thanks for your time . . .
Eric LewisEric Lewis on Sunday, 23 January 2011 15:41

I don't know that you'll be able to find one that is already tuned to chiropractic, but this site is using a Joomlashack template called js_relevant. It lends itself to customization.

Also, CMSLounge has some templates that are pretty easy to change, their code is clean, and the templates are simple to navigate.
http://www.cmslounge.com/templates/joomla-1-5-templates.html

www.joomlabamboo.com is another template designer that puts out some very good, clean design templates that modify pretty well.

A good source of templates, both done well, and not so well, is here:

Eric,

Thanks for your feedback and URLs, ... I appreciate it.

I will investigate the links that you provided and review both websites and template options.

Wow - the new uploads to the "Your Latest Custom Templates" album are sweet! Anyone that would like to upload there, feel free to do so. Also, feel free to go back and comment on the uploads to give an idea of what the concept of the design is or any other details. Links to a live site version are also welcomed (but of course not required).

We have some very creative folks in here - yay us! :-)
