Description

The Gantry Framework is a powerful GPL template framework developed by the folks at RocketTheme. It's supremely flexible, configurable, and a perfect building-block for developing feature rich Joomla templates.

As outlined in the recent RocketTheme blog post, the Gantry Framework already supports MooTools 1.2.4 and will automatically switch to compatible JavaScript versions when this optional plugin is enabled.  The switching capability is built-in so all you need to do is provide Moo 1.1.12 and Moo 1.2+ compatible scripts in your Gantry features and the framework will detect the plugin and use the appropriate version.  All of the built-in features and functionality provided with the framework is already supported.  Just thought you might want to know :)

just read this comparison : http://magazine.joomla.org/issues/Issue-Jul-2010/item/81-Joomla-Template-Tools-Part-One and the other parts ..and download pdf files .. you will simply notice that Gantry is better than others and really why you shoud use it ..

It does include the 960 grid and is available to use free , so is not the exclusive use of their templates. http://landed.at/nomads - for the backpacking community on joomla

DOCUMENTATION... decent documentation....

I second that request Jose, and with a vengeance. Gantry seems to be powerful, but, without decent documentation, is somewhat limited. I don't have time to spend hours figuring it out myself. I want some written dox to walk me through even the simple stuff. I have struggled, also like Jose, with trying to get just my logo to display correctly. There is no solid documentation on this simple thing. I have a rectangular logo but it will only display in a square, meaning most of the logo is cutoff. I tried autosize and that does nothing.

I though I updated this post ....guess it didn´t go through !! Anyway problem was solved by upgrading to gantry framework to 3.0.9 turn off rotator in default and enable it in a per menu item..just like Steve suggested. ok so I consider this ticket closed...once again thank you all for your time and effort toward a newbie like me !!

There seem to be 2 files for download, what is the bootstrap used for ?
Adam RectorAdam Rector on Sunday, 04 July 2010 04:12

The bootstrap is placed in the template so that it can use Gantry's features, from what I can tell, and let's you know if Gantry is not installed if you try to enable a Gantry powered template without it.

im still not clear from your post adam. So we need to install both and it sounds like the bootstrap should be installed first.

Bootstrap is for older Gantry templates. Prior to V2.5 (I think it is). If you're doing a fresh install it's not needed.

with power comes complexity, this is not to be gotten to grips with really quickly and I think I need an installation to appreciate it...
