Hi Rodulfo. I created this group hoping that the Joomla social network would pick up. Kaso wala e. Even the official JUP board seems not so active. If you want you could check out http://forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=21
Nako-correct ba siya mag-isa or stay "wasak" as you say so?
People here, May ma recommend po ba kayo na server man na magaling sa linux server and willing to work in Denmark? we're in need of a hardworking and good serverman. =)
is it possible to make this url rewrite in joomla? yun kasing one.html is a submenu of product tpos diba kung e rewrite mo ung url, the output must be the " http://mysite.com/product/one.html" kasi nga sub menu cya.. pero gusto po ng client, e bypass ug product na path. is that possible po?
e bypass yung product, pero in the front end, and one is still a submenu of product.

Edit mo yung rewrite rule specific for that URL only - check mo .htaccess file
Pwede mo copy-paste dito yung full URL nung "one" na page na hindi pa na-rewrite.
@Nono: What I mean another group was the joomla developer group created by John Alvin Ferias.
Ah, baka di niya ito napansin when he created the group. He's here with us naman. It's kind of my fault since I don't visit here often, too.
@Nono: You can talk to John Alvin and see if you can come up with an agreement to retain only one group. But if his group would have a different mission/vision as yours, then I believe it's OK to have two groups - though that would break the Filipino community into two and would become confusing for potential members.
It's the same. I just updated the avatar and put it in a better category (Joomla User Groups Asia).
I created this group hoping that we could share ideas about Joomla. Since official social network na ito, hopefully maging active. I do not use Joomla extensively but I had a client who asked me to put up an e-comm site using it. My music site is also run on Joomla.
I have not upgraded to 1.6. Afraid ako since I am still using an old template and some plugins that require legacy Joomla. What's your experience so far?
If you have a site using 1.5, it would be a pain to migrate since there is no direct content migration from 1.5 to 1.6 plus your template and extensions would break. If you're using K2, you would have to wait a little more.
Better stay on 1.5 until all the extensions that you are using becomes 1.6 compatible (there are only a handful of extensions that works well with 1.6). If you're using plugins that require legacy mode, you'll be out of luck with 1.6 - either find a replacement that works with the new version or stay with your 1.5.
I have client websites that I'm not migrating yet to the new version unless the client has the budget for the migration. ;)
If it'll be a new project, I might use 1.6 if the requirements doesn't need too much 1.5-compatible extensions.
is it a must to keep joomla! sites up to date? what if dun ka lang sa kung ano yung version na ginamit mo pag install, what will happen?
@Franklin: It's better to apply security patches when they become available to close the vulnerabilities, otherwise your site is wide open for hacking. The only time you don't do patches is if you have a custom install with the core files heavily modified - but this is a risk you have to take if you took that route (which should be a no-no for newbies).
Hi Franklin, not all are selfish especially when helping other developers. As for forums, we have them but people have become too busy with life and work that most are no longer active (unfortunately that have left some newbies without mentors). And some have moved on to using other PHP frameworks or developing mobile applications. We may not have webinars but we do occassionally have meetings (though it is limited to JUG-PH core members). As for the "payabangan" issue, huwag mong lahatin - meron pa din dyan na nakatuntong pa din ang paa sa lupa. :)
hope meron pa ngang meet ups.....mukhang naguupgrade nga lahat ah.,...medjo magulo din kasi Joomla may bagong version na ulit...sana maging active ulit Joomla Forum for Philippines.....la namn siguro mayabang .....hehehee..baka busy lang talaga sila........
it's nice to hear that we have mentors ready to help. :) As for me, I use to ask questions dun sa international joomla forum kasi yun nga, parang inactive ang joomla ph.
@John: Bihira na meet-ups lately, unlike before - and this is mostly due to the advent of mobile applications. Yung iba kasi nag-iOS/Android na kaya Joomla development took a backseat, yung iba naman nag-"upgrade" using Nooku.
@Franklin: Busy na mga tao kaya inactive na yung JUG-PH forums - saka hindi na kasi naka-concentrate on Joomla alone because some projects have different requirements that would need the developer to use another framework/software/CMS.
Hello. I invited about 20 or so people by searching members here. Kayo lang ang nag-join. Hehe.
