Hi Tom,

I just finished adding a section about configuring the options prior to upgrade if you'd like to take a look.

TomTom on Wednesday, 29 June 2011 01:49

Hi Michael,

I read it and it's clear.

Thanks, Tom

Tom,
Ah, I couldn't find the settings. You're right, there is a Options buttons. Should have looked better.

I think this should be explained in the documentation, http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_Joomla_1.5_to_Joomla_1.6. It's not only essential for the version but also for the database prefix. I didn't use jos_ and only realise now I should have changed it.

Thanks

I think some of the options have been added since that documentation was initially added. I'll look at it some and update the documentation in the next couple of days.

Tom,
With my most recent migration I couldn't choose between 1.6 and 1.7. 1.7 was automatically installed, which is strange because it's not a stable version. Do I need an older version of jUpgrade for 1.6?
Michael BabkerMichael Babker on Tuesday, 28 June 2011 03:23

Hi Tom,

You should be able to choose the package in the component parameters from your 1.5 site prior to starting the migration. The code also has the logic to download the correct file. Is this not working right for you?

Manoel J. SilvaManoel J. Silva on Tuesday, 28 June 2011 08:01

Tom, I heard that was only a versioning typo. Was that your case?

TomTom on Tuesday, 28 June 2011 08:31

No, I actualy have a 1.7 site now. So far everything seems to work okay. It will the first time in my life I'll use an alpha for a live site :)

Michael BabkerMichael Babker on Tuesday, 28 June 2011 16:20

Manoel, there was a bug where the message displayed "Installing Joomla 1.6" regardless of the package selected. I gave Matias a patch to let it dynamically get the correct package and it's been implemented to his code.
