First of all, the link you posted is bias in many ways. There is no direct connection between the number of websites deployed using a specific CMS and the search word of the actual CMS's name. In other words, that graph shows the number of people that type in "drupal", "joomla", or "wordpress" into Google.
First, Google is not the only search engine in the world.
Second, why don't they use "Website CMS" as the correlation search term and see what comes up... Joomla! Same for the organic results... go ahead google the search word "website cms" and notice that you see Joomla! and not Drupal or Wordpress.
I assure you, Joomla is not losing anything. The J! API is far more unique than Drupal or Wordpress... it reminds me of when Bill Gates came out with BASIC. Joomla will eventually (possibly already) dominate the entire CMS market... at least until someone comes out with a CMS written in C lol... you never know. PHP runs really slow compared to C.

redesigning a 3 year old joomla site using Zen Grid. Will add K2 and lots of bells and whistles. Will have to redo it with J 1.6 when I am sure all the extensions I need will work.
