The K2 JComments plugin is available for download now. It allows the K2 component to support JComments commentary extension without any code hacks.
The plugin archive can be downloaded from the JComments Download page: K2 JComments. For the plugin to work, installed K2 version 2.2 and higher is required. To install the plugin, please use the Joomla! extensions installer.

As far as I know JComments has not-public beta-version for Joomla! 1.6 which is yet now available for public. Please let be patient - you'll get it as soon as ;)
