Description

This group is a place where we can share our experiences of working with clients who makes us laugh, cry, cringe and rage.

Please respect privacy and don't name then shame anyone. But do give us all the other details if you want to get it off your chest so we can all have a good laugh.

I guess this group is a bit like the clients from hell tumblr

After rebuilding the entire site, adding a virtuemart shopping cart. Changing the entire range of products after having to compare them a second time to the eisting site, having the client and his other director wow over how good it looks,,,,, "if only the products page could look exactly like the old site."

I have to say that the thing that annoys me most is when I receive out of the blue a request for a quotation on a long list of site specifications, which must be done ASAP of course. It's blatantly obvious that the customers have no interest in doing business with me, they already have a quotation from a web design company, they just think it is too high, and want another quote for comparison. So they want me to give up my time for free (hours of it, to prepare a detailed quote) to give them a negotiating tactic. It's a real time waster.

These days I just email them back politely pointing out that I realise that they already have a quote and are just looking for a bargaining tool, and that therefore I can only give them a very rough indication of the cost. Then I quote a very high figure and say that they are free to come back to me for a detailed quote. Then that's the last I hear from them. It would be anyway, whatever answer I gave, but it is more satisfying.
