These actions are to prevent (and cure) a "problem " A user created 21 fan clubs for their company. Looking at the number of "dormant" extension groups currently, the amount of extension groups created that purely have a RSS feed in them from the company as a whole, developers are not using them efficiently (and/or using them as back links). for efficiency, it would seem best for a company fan club created by the developer. if the developer only wants to promote through their rss feed then joomlaconnect is ideal, and company blog sp sites are against the rules and guidelines on the subject of being over run, the amount of new groups being created is negligble but follows miinor variations. * despite seeing the "wait for approval " message - the person then creates 3/4/5 identical groups. * a person creates a group and treats it like their own baseball field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_Dreams) Dead/dormant groups have always been moved to an archive category prior to being unpublished. the only bother they cause is for a user trying to navigate the groups to find 40 dormant groups looking for the one that is active. Group creators are not the same as admins. we usually offer creators of duplicates to dormant groups the option of being the group admins (as in the http://people.joomla.org/groups/viewgroup/1020-joomla-en-mexico.html and few others (resurrected dormant groups). there have been several announcements of these procedure posted with no one commenting on them. For phrasing, dormant groups are those that have no posts/discussions or anything more than greetz in them slight PV as for JS2.4 - if we have the software we will use it. there is a big wish list for pjo that is "under consideration". until the options are available, we can only do what we can. bigger PV If people dont visit this site and notice that a group has been listed for and then archived then they dont visit the site enough which is another topic up for discussion in other places

Hi James, Democracy: - Easier for non-official groups to publish their events. - Do not block the power of disclosure to those who start. - Pave the way for new groups. - Establish more open dialogue with the community. ...and more! Regards

When creating a group, please note that it will be manually checked to be suitable and in the right category.
Creating multiple versions of the same group will not encourage the moderation team to approve your group

Hi,
I'm sorry if this isn't right place, but I'm getting frustrated with Joomla Showcase and Magazine Case Studies. We have applied for both and we never everen received reply! Fair enough Joomla team can't reply to all forms for magazine case studies - they have to select only the best of the best, but there are some truly rubbish examples in Showcase and we don't get the chance to show our work? ;)
Frustrating! :(
What else we should do?
Thank you and all the best!
Overall... we love Joomla!

Honza, I'll pass your comment on to the JCM case study crew; I have written some in the past and am in touch with the volunteers who are working on that column now.

I fully agree with your comments regarding the Showcase and I regret I can't help you with that.
