Description
About the Project:
The CB Project, born in the year 2002, is the most popular extension on the Joomla Extensions Directory and the core CB suite has always been released as a GPL licensed package and free of charge. The CB Community on Joomlapolis is one of the largest and most active groups in the Joomla/Mambo universe having recently surpassed the 300’000 membership mark and continues to grow fast. Support funding for the project is provided primarily through the CB Documentation subscription offering and donations and also through CBSubs™, Joomlapolis templates and Joomlapolis business-class hosting proceeds.
CB 1.4 is compatible with Joomla 1.6.0, 1.5.x and 1.0.x.

By the way, Nick and me will be at J&Beyond in Wiesbaden in a bit more than a week from now, giving talks on CB and CBSubs, and also replying to questions and collecting feedbacks. We are looking forward to also discuss there with an amazing panel of Joomla people. I think there are only few tickets left for the conference which has limited number of seats. So if you want to spend Sunday or begin of week in Wiesbaden and talk with us in person and with lots of other Joomla extensions developers, it's the place to be. Looking forward to see some of you there.
It's still a bit early to present CB 2.0 publicly, but we will make sure that all people in this group get the info when we do it. :-)
Build It and they will come? Well, we are already here, waiting on you to show us the finish product!
Yes, look and feel (UI) and templating is being completely redone for CB 2.0. Also CB 2.0 will have many more features out of the box.
Yes, look counts. CB 2.0 will have (actually already 50% implemented) a new rendering and templating and a new user-interface engine, all table-less, and ajax powered.
Once the new engine is done (in cooperation with designers we already work with), there will be a call to professional designers to template the most beautiful and usable social engine around.
Btw, CB 1.2.2 already has profiles-page templating to a certain extent, as you can render the positions as you wish in a php view file in your CB template, and has many new CSS classes and id markups.
