What is K2 jPage?

K2 jPage is based on K2 Content module and give you the possibility to display the K2 Items in client-side generated pages. K2 jPage does not load the site again when the user change the page and this give better user experience.

K2 jPage gives you a lot more features comparing to most of the other paginations: auto page turn, key and scroll browse, showing items with delay, completely customizable navigation panel and also integration with Animate.css.

Features provided by K2 jPage

1. Number of columns – set the number of columns per row with items
2. Load jQuery – jQuery is loaded by default by K2, but if you have some problem with loading of jQuery you can load it by this module
3. Position – set the position of the pagination (Top, Bottom, Both)
4. Count of pages – display count of pages on the top or in the bottom
5. Count of items – display count of items on the top or in the bottom
6. Jump to Page – display a “Jump to Page” field and button
7. Destroy – display a “Remove pagination” button
8. Items per page – set the number of items per page
9. Star page – set the number of the default page
10. Start range – specify the number of pages that are showed in the begging of the pagination
11. Middle range – specify the number of pages that are showed in the middle of the pagination
12. End range – specify the number of pages that are showed in the end of the pagination
13. Items per page list – display a drop-down list with select of items per page
14. Links type – set the type of the navigation links. Blanks – links without numbers or text; Numeric – Links with number of the page; Title – links with the title of the item
15. Keyboard navigation – enable navigation trough keyboard arrows
16. Scroll browse – enable navigation trough mouse scroll
17. Direction – set the direction of jQuery Fallback effect. Forward - Start displaying items from the left; Backwards - Start displaying items from the right; Auto - Start displaying items from the left if you move to a page on the right and from the right if you move to a page on the left. Random - Display items randomly.
18. CSS3 Animation – Enable CSS3 animation effect
19. Fallback – speed of jQuery Fallback effect (in milliseconds)
20. AutoRotate – enable autorotate mode
21. AutoRotate pause – set the pause between change of pages (in milliseconds)

What is K2 Filtrify?

K2 Filtrify is advanced filtering module based on K2 Items. With K2 Filtrify you can search extra fields and filter items by multiple values from different extra fields, also you get a live feedback on the number of items containing related values.

How to use K2 Filtrify?

K2 Filtrify makes use of the new HTML5 "data" attribute to store the metadata. To create the “data” attribute K2 Filtrify get the name of the extra fields and their values.

There two important things that you must know when creating the extra fields and their values:

1. The name of the extra field is the name of the filter (panel) generated by K2 Filtrify
2. If you want to have multiple values per one extra filed(filter) you must separate them with comma –"," Example: "Comedy, Drama, Thriller"

Features provided by K2 Filtrify

1. Number of columns – specify the number of  items per row
2. Enable jQuery – K2 Filtrify use jQuery library. By default there is jQuery included in K2, but if you have any troubles with loading it, you can enable this option and jQuery will be loaded by the module.
3. Close panel – Enable this if you want to autoclose the filter panel after selecting a value
4. Callback function: List of additional functions that extend the standard view of K2 Filtrify

- Legend – display additional information about the selected values
- Pagination – display pagination for loaded K2 items.
- Highlighting – Highlight the selected items, and does not hide the items that don’t match the filter criteria.
- None – standard view of K2 Filtrify

5. Items per page – specify the number of items per page, when Pagination Callback function is selected
6. Default no result text – Text that is displayed when your search in the panel return no result.
Basic options and Advanced options are standard for K2 content module.

The K2 Zoomer plugin is a system plugin that allow you to have zoomed image in box for your K2 items. With this plugin your users easily can view part of the large image of K2 item without open it in full screen.

Using this plugin does not remove opening the images in light box feature of K2 and does not hack any K2 files.

K2 Zoomer has following features:

• Zoom type:  Standard – the standard feature of K2 Zoomer, Reverse – over the main image is showed a lens effect, Drag – the user must drag the inner box to change the zoomed view and Inner Zoom – the zoomed image is inside the main image.
• Zoom height and Zoom width – specify the detentions of the zoomed box.
• X offset and Y offset – specify the distance between the main image and the zoomed box.
• Position – specify the position of the zoomed box  according to the main image (Top, Bottom, Left, Right)
• Preload images – preload the images after loading the page. This feature removes the “blink” effect after the user hover over the image for the first time after page load.
• Preloading default text
• Title of the image – to be displayed or not
• Lens – adding lens effect
• Show effect and Hide effect – selects the effect for showing and hiding the image
• Fade in and Fade out speed – specify the speed for fade in and fade out effect
• Always on – this feature allows you to switch the  zoomed box to be always on or off

Background

When you are building a social networking site, you would love to have a single profile. That package does exactly this – it full replaces the K2 profile with the JomSocial data and even integrates it further.

What is integrated?

• User avatars and links to profiles – all of them link to JomSocial profile instead of K2 profile. It means in modules, categories, items, comments etc.
• Actions – when user ads or edits article or posts a comment, this is displayed in JomSocial as activity with option to like and comment.
• Latest articles and latest comments – two applications for K2 in JomSocial profile.
• Joomla! 2.5.
• K2 2.5.5 (it is designed for that version, it will not work on earlier versions and may not work on newer).
• JomSocial 2.4 (it is designed for that version, it may not work on earlier versions and may not work on newer, however the tests with JomSocial 2.6 RC2 had no issues).

System requirements

Very important notes

1. The package works with the default template of K2 ONLY. If you are using custom overwrites from template clubs like Joomlart, Rockettheme, Gavick etc., the package will not work with these templates in full.
2. The package HACKS few files from K2, so please be aware of that. If you reinstall or upgrade your K2 version, the package will stop working.
3. The package overwrites the files en-GB.override.ini files both in administrator and site section. If you have entered overwrites there, please backup before install.

Contents

The zip file is installed as is. You don’t need to extract it, if you wish to use all the features. However, if you unzip it and install each of the zips in the archive, you may decide to make only parts of the integration. Each sub-zip file can be installed separately as well.

• applications.zip – contains two JomSocial applications that display the user latest posts and comments in his JomSocial profile.
• language.zip – contains one system plugin that translates the language strings in all of the packages. You must always install and enable this plugin.
• modules.zip – contains all the K2 modules, forked to have the JomSocial integration with them. Use these modules, instead of the original K2 Modules. They are exactly the same, except for the profile integration.
• stream.zip – this sub-package hacks K2 to allow the streaming in JomSocial when user comments, ads or edits article. Uninstalling this (or the whole BIG package will result in errors). To fix this errors after uninstall, you must reinstall K2 again.
• template.zip – this sub-package ads a JomSocial template in K2. In order to enable the integration, you should choose the JomSocial template for your categories.

How it works?

1. Install the package (or some of the sub-packages if you selected to do so).
2. Go to plugins and enable a plugin that should appear with the name “K2 JomSocial Integration”
3. Go to your categories and select “jomsocial” as your category template. You should do so for each category, which you want to display integration of K2 and JomSocial.
4. Go to JomSocial -> User Points and click on “Rule Scan”, at least three new rules should appear: “Add Article”, “Edit Article”, “Post Comment”. Click on Refresh. The new rules will appear in the list and you may change the points.
5. Your JomSocial installation should contain at least these two fields: “FIELD_ABOUTME”, “FIELD_WEBSITE” to work correctly.
6. Go to Plugins and filter to see the community plugins. There should be two plugins “K2 Comments” and “K2 Items”. Enable and setup these if you wish.
7. Go to Modules and enable these K2 modules that you want to use. We have copied all of the built-in modules of K2 and added suffix _jomsocial to make it easier to use.

Uninstalling

If for any reason you choose to uninstall the integration, please uninstall what you have installed (i.e. if you have installed the big package – only uninstall it.).

If you have installed the BIG (all-in-one) package or the Stream package, you will need to reinstall K2. Just go to the extension manager and install K2 again. No data will be lost.

Using with other K2 templates

If your template has overwrites (many of the Gavick, Joomlart, Rockettheme etc. templates have it), be aware that the patch will not work with these. You either should use our sub-template (jomsocial) or not use the integration at all.
